We both have had previous careers. Having grown up in the lumber industry, Jim has been a supervisor and craftsman in the building industry for over 45 years.  There are many homes in many locations where he smiles and says “I built that home”.  He has also had a passion for music, having taught himself the guitar at age 12 and been playing ever since.  Sometimes in bands and mostly for pleasure.  Additionally, he taught for 15 years, students of all ages, how to play the guitar. His other hobbies have included everything from restoring cars to building airplanes.  He also longs for more time to ride his Harley in our retirement.   

Sherry spent 9 years in elected office on the Oakdale City Council but spent most of her career in non-profit management.  An English major, her writing skills were well utilized in grant writing to support nonprofits in both the education and affordable housing fields.  Sherry enjoys spending time in the kitchen be it baking or cooking.  She has a curiosity with trying new recipes and collects cookbooks.  She also loves to read and is excited to be part of a local book club.  Spending time with her husband, her children, her little puppies and sipping wine – all make her smile.
